Farming in Protected Landscapes programme opens in July

For those clients farming in one of the South East’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty or the South Downs National Park, this new Defra-funded programme may be of interest. The programme will pay for one-off projects to:
- support nature recovery
- mitigate the impacts of climate change
- provide opportunities for people to discover, enjoy and understand the landscape and its cultural heritage
- support nature-friendly, sustainable farm businesses
Examples of such projects include:
- promoting connectivity between habitats
- replacing stiles with gates on public footpaths to promote easier access
- conserving historic features
- supporting a locally branded food initiative that promotes the links between the product and the landscape
- action to reduce carbon emissions on a farm
If you have a project in mind and would like to discuss with a member of the team, please get in touch.
