Agricultural Transition Surgeries – The future of Farm Support Payments
Free advice | 1-2-1 meetings
Following announcements by the RPA toward the end of 2021, we now have some clarity in respect of the roadmap for the transition away from the Basic Payment Scheme to the new farm support schemes which make up the Environmental Land Management Scheme.

To assist farmers and landowners, Lambert & Foster are offering free 1-2-1 meetings to advise on how the transition will affect your holding, whether as in-hand farmer, tenant, grazier or landlord. The surgeries will take place at our Hythe, Wadhurst and Paddock Wood offices (click here to view the location of our offices) with members of the rural professional team on hand to discuss the following:
- Reductions in BPS Payments
- Introduction of the Sustainable Farming Incentive, including opportunities for 2022
- Countryside Stewardship Scheme – still available for applications in 2022
- Roadmap for ELMS beyond the Sustainable Farming Incentive
The team would also be happy to discuss the following:
- Diversification ideas and associated matters to consider, including planning implications
- Grants presently available and expected
If you would like to book a 30-45 minute slot with the team, please contact Christine Langridge on 01892 832325 or Christine.langridge@lambertandfoster.co.uk
Please note, if you are an existing Basic Payment Scheme or Countryside Stewardship client you are welcome to attend but the intention is to discuss such matters during our normal annual pre-application review which will take place before the May 15th deadline.
