Delinked Payments – action required?
It has been well documented that BPS payments in years 2024 to 2027 will not be based on what you are farming, but what you claimed in years 2020 to 2022.

If your claim did not change in years 2020 to 2022, and you submitted a claim in 2023, then no action is required and you will continue to receive your annual BPS delinked payment without needing to submit an annual claim. However, if your circumstances changed during the 2020 to 2022 period, or you did not submit a claim in 2023, then action may be required ahead of 10th May 2024 to ensure the delinked payments are not lost.
There are two scenarios where this is most likely to apply:
- If you claimed in any one of the 3 reference years, 2020 to 2022, but then gave up a tenancy or sold land and did not submit a claim in 2023, you will have a reference amount attached to your RPA account that needs to be transferred to an eligible BPS claimant who did claim in 2023. If you do not make this transfer, the reference amount will be lost.
- If you succeeded to a tenancy or inherited land during the reference years or since this date, you may need to transfer the reference amount to your new RPA account
You may also need to review your position if your business has a new SBI, or has been merged or split during this period.
