£10m to boost tree planting – Woodland Carbon Guarantee
The Forestry Commission has confirmed that £10m funding will be available for the second auction for the Woodland Carbon Guarantee. If you are thinking of creating new woodland on your holding, please get in touch if you would like to understand how this funding may help.
Successful participants will be offered the option to sell Woodland Carbon Units to the government over 35 years at a guaranteed price set by auction and protected against inflation, providing new income for land managers who help businesses compensate for their carbon emissions.
Application deadline is 5th June 2020 and tree planting will not need to commence until winter 2020/21.
